Duo On Run After Shooting Into Occupied Freeport Home
The incident took place in Freeport around 1 a.m. Friday, April 7 on Frederick Avenue.
According to the Nassau County detectives, officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation at Frederick Avenue where two unknown suspects fired multiple gunshots into an occupied residence before fleeing on foot westbound on Frederick Avenue.
No injuries were reported, and no further description of the subjects is available at this time, police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
Detectives request anyone with information regarding the above crime to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or to call 911.

Global Spectrum, operators of the Liacouras Center, introduced New Era Tickets as the new ticketing company for all events, including Temple men's and women's basketball at the Liacouras Center November 7. <.P>

Motocross Mentor From Canterbury Who Sexually Assaulted Minor In Plainfield Apprehended: Police
On Thursday, Aug. 17 in Windham County, the Plainfield Police Department announced that 23-year-old Hunter Calle of Canterbury had been brought into custody on charges of sexual assault.
A complaint filed in June of 2023 alleged that, approximately three years earlier, Calle had sexually assaulted a minor at the Central Cycle Club, located at 45 South Cady Lane in Central Village. Central Cycle Club is a non-profit competition motocross club, and at the time Calle is alleged to have committed the abuse, he was participating as a mentor for the club’s kid’s series racing program.

Police ID Man Killed During DC Assault That Left Woman Hospitalized With Stab Wounds
Orlando Galloway, 36, of Southeast, DC, was killed following a violent assault that was reported at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 2 in the 200 block of 14th Street, according to police.
Investigators say that detectives responded to the scene, where they found Galloway suffering from gunshot and stab wounds, inside a nearby residence, alongside a second woman who had apparently been stabbed.
DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel were called to the scene and rushed the woman to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment of undisclosed injuries, while Galloway was pronounced dead at the scene.

20-Year-Old Student Dies While Walking Dogs In Dorchester On New Years Eve
Callum Tomas DiCenso had just turned 20 when he suffered a cardiac arrest while walking his dogs, Piper and Kevin, on Sunday, Dec. 31.
He was excited to see his friends and classmates at the University of Vermont, where he was a sophomore in the Honors College, his obituary read.
DiCenso's brother-in-law said in a Facebook post:

Rockville Cancels 'Rocktobierfest' As Severe Weather From Hurricane Ian Approaches
Rocktobierfest, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 1, has been officially canceled after forecasts of inclement weather cover Montgomery County and surrounding areas after Hurricane Ian made landfall in Florida Wednesday, Sept. 28, according to the City of Rockville.

Monique and James Rugile held the grand opening of Rugile's Kitchen in Haworth on Tuesday, Feb. 28.

Valhalla Homeless Shelter To Be Run By New Operator, Officials Report
According to a WARN Notice posted on Wednesday, Nov. 23, the Westchester County Department of Social Services has not renewed its contract with Volunteers of America-Greater New York to operate the Grasslands Homeless Shelter in Valhalla.
