A 1993 Ford Ranger heading north on Route 15 crossed over the cener line and struck a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu head-on around 8 p.m. Saturday, July 19, Virginia State Police said.
The Ford caught fire and its driver, David W. McDaniel, Jr. 45, of Orange, died at the scene near Madison Road, police said.
A passenger in the Ford, a 38-year-old woman from Remington was taken to UVA Medical Center for treatment of serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

ID Released For Nassau County Correctional Facility Inmate Who Died At Age 45
At around 12:15 a.m. Wednesday, 1, the man was found unresponsive in his cell by a correction officer at the Nassau County Correctional Facility located in East Meadow at 100 Carmen Ave. He was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced dead at 1:15 a.m.
On Friday, March 3, police ID'd the inmate as Ray Digiacomo, of Bethpage.
Nassau County Police say the death was "of an undetermined nature.

Guardian Stole $150K From Disabled Hempstead Man, Left Him In Mouse-Infested Home, DA Says
Gina D’Amore, age 57, of Levittown, was arraigned on multiple charges in Nassau County Court on Friday, Dec. 16, including grand larceny and endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person.
Prosecutors said D’Amore and the victim worked together for the Town of Hempstead and she was appointed as his legal guardian after he retired. She served in the role from July 2016 to June 2019.
Instead of protecting his finances during that period, however, D’Amore allegedly skimmed checks she received on behalf of the victim, depositing only portions of the funds into his bank account while taking the rest for herself, prosecutors said.

Proposed Plan To Overhaul Little Ferry Park Advances
Public input was sought at a recent meeting to help with creation of the proposed master plan.
The plan will address how the park can be used to provide recreation amenities for borough residents and habitat for wildlife.
The park, located along the Hackensack River, had been hard hit after Superstorm Sandy in 2012. Because of the this, the borough was able to obtain a post Sandy planning assistance federal grant from the Department of Community Affairs to fund the master plan.
